I looked forward to this tale of adventure from this new author with gusto; but in return my desire for a work of believable escapist fiction I received an unwelcome shock - David Bilsborough writes terribly. His use of language is simply awful. He uses terms which are not suitable for fantasy, the dialogue is simply phony, and the people and creatures that populate the land belong in a children's novel. There is very little of merit in this novel. Admittedly I did stop reading at page one hundred, but I had suffered enough. Life is too short to be wasting your precious time on woefully sub par tales.
